Plant Care:
Boxwood is highly adaptable to varying soil types and can take full sun to moderate shade growing in hardiness Zones 6-9. Boxwood Blight and Phytopthora root rot are the primary concerns. The varieties we carry show reduced sensitivity to blight. Improved soil drainage and infrequent irrigation help mitigate root rot. Mulch the prepared soil base to retain moisture and fertilize with a slow-release fertilizer to encourage new growth. Prune from spring to summer if necessary.
Ideal planting seasons: Fall, Winter, and Spring.
